Thank you. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!
I am completely overwhelmed and humbled that so many of you would be so kind and take the time to leave a comment, especially the lovely comments you left. It turned a yucky experience into something pretty amazing, and I cannot thank you enough! You all pulled me out of a bog! Really, you have no idea how much your kind words mean to me and how I keep looking at them when I start gettign that dreaded feeling of awfulness, and they pick me up every time - so THANK YOU!! I really do love you all to pieces. :)
So, a few announcements and I also need some help! Announcements first, though.
We have some new fabric in the shop, and it's LOVERLY. And um, we have a wee bit more coming, but check out what's new first:
Weekends from Erin McMorris - so lovely! Available in our shop.
Look at the tiny bicycles! HEART THEM.
And we also got in McKenzie from Dena Designs! So pretty - I love
her hand-drawn art and the gorgeous colors she uses!! Available in our shop.
And what about this - Colorful Christmas from Riley Blake? I may have already confessed that I went NUTS in the Riley Blake booth at Quilt Market and bought everything. :) Well, it showed up and I LOVE IT!!
And I got an older collection, Just Dreamy, from Riley Blake also -
because it's gorgeous and why wouldn't I? :)
Pretty, huh?? I love them. We have about 100 bolts coming in THE NEXT WEEK, oops. It appears I may have over-ordered at Quilt Market. Oh, what a SHAME. Because we are totally out of room,
we are having a sale. We already have a tons of things on sale for $5.99 a yard in the SALE section of our shop, but we added this...
And now, the vote! My high school reunion is in a few weeks, and I need a dress. A black dress, of course, because in my mind this will hide my giant ass. Right? RIGHT??? I am armed with Spanx and some seriously amazing shoes. I have no dress, and would look a wee bit foolish showing up in Spanx, a bra and some shoes, although that does sound a bit like some of the nightmares I have been having for the past y ear about my reunion. ANYWAY, I have narrowed it down to four, and I leave the final decision up to you because I cannot decide. Here you go:
Number One - Yum.
Will cover the Spanx nicely.
Has great reviews and hopefully I won't hang out of it.
Number Two - Very Forties
Also has great reviews, and I like the flowiness. Worry about the belt thing.
Number Three - Pretty. Or Possibly Not. I don't know.
I don't know if I like this dress or not. It also has great reviews and
Dress #4. I like it. My daughter thinks it looks like a bathrobe.
I think I like that aspect of it, and the leg-hiding qualities. Again, you decide. I just can't.
Please vote! I need your help! :) THANK YOU SO MUCH. :)

I like dress two as well, but I can't click on your poll :(
ReplyDelete# 1, no question!! Happy Reunion.
ReplyDeleteI voted for #2 and I LOVE all the fabrics you have coming in!
ReplyDeletevoting on #3 but I don't think it is going through (my MAC doesn't always mesh well with certain applications)...
ReplyDelete#3 - simple and elegant....#1 is a close second. Have a great time. Funny - I wearing shorts and maybe capris to my reunion. We're a bit more relaxed I guess! Your brotherman
ReplyDelete#1 - You seem to me a bit of a lacy person! (And let's see these fantastic shoes - it's truly all about the shoes!)
ReplyDeleteAnother week or so and I'll be all set up in my new sewing room (okay - corner!) and ready to reap the reward: an order from Buttercuppity!
I like #4! And don't forget your Posh Topping! Bringing some for your perusal next week. Tell me which colors you'd like to see again? Are your fabulous shoes black or did you choose a color?
ReplyDeleteKrista
You know, I voted for dress #1. It is simple and elegant and I think it would be super flattering on you. But it is quite...formal.
ReplyDeleteSo the more I think of it, I think you should go for #4! It is not bath-robe-y at all; it is darling and stylish and would be deliciously comfortable. With some cute flat sandals and fabulous (maybe turquoise) jewelry? I think you would be most confident and at-ease in that. And isn't that what we want at our reunion?! In this one you wouldn't worry about spilling wine or dropping a chicken wing on yourself. ha!
#2 is waaay too fussy with the sleeves and the neckline and the belt/ribbon thingie. It seems a bit matronly and that is not you at all. :)
I like number two very much! If the belt makes it a no-go, I say go with number one!
ReplyDeleteI voted number two, cause it would play up your busty assests! I think it would be flattering! Lots of lace seems to shout "Im not afaird! Im not a wallflower" And get rid of the sash and SEW YOUR OWN with something beautiful from the shop!!!!! What a great way to start conversation with your peers and show off the great things you are up too. You need a little color. wearing black nessesitates a colorfull accessory. PS: I give you permission to ditch black all together and find something vibrant. (dont get me wrong, black is classic and a favorite of mine...but) Black is not as good at "slimming" us curvy women as we would wish. (thats what the Spanx are for!) In fact, I think it kinda hints at our insecurity to over do black. So go bold if you like!

ReplyDeleteany of those dresses would be very pretty and flattering. I think #1 thou is my favorite it looks the most like you. black and your blond hair will look great!!
carrie k
I say #2. Go for the vintage look. 3 justs looks so-so, not for a reunion. 4 looks like you should were it for a fancy pool party. IMHO
ReplyDelete#1 ! :) are your shoes going to be a bright fabulous color that screams Ari??
ReplyDeleteI voted for #2, with #1 as a close second. They're both beautiful and I have to agree with the other comment about the black dress/blond hair thing. And please stop putting yourself down and thinking that you have to wear a dress that hides anything about you - you're fabulous!!! Just don't go in a bra and Spanx, k?
ReplyDeleteI like #3. I can totally see you in that. I nominated you for some blog awards that you do NOT have to accept. But if you do, just go to my new post to check it out.
